Bocas del Toro or Bocas Town is the capital of the Panamanian province of Bocas del Toro and is a town and a tourist resort located on the southern tip of Colón Island in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. On the mainland is Parque Internacional La Amistad, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve.
Protected from the sea by the Bocas del Toro archipelago, much of Chiriqui Lagoon is designated as the Parque Nacional Marino Isla Bastimentos. This marine park has rare wildlife and habitat of beaches, extensive coral reefs, mangroves and tropical forrests.
