Boisa Island off the northeast coast of Papua New Guinea, is one of a group of islands that receives fresh water from the Sepik river as it flows into the Bismark Sea. Boisa island, itself volcanic, is where villagers were evacuated following volcanic eruptions from the neighbouring Manam Island in 2004.
