The settlement at Cape Dorset (Kinngait) is located on the southwest corner of Baffin Island, Canada. Excavations here revealed the existence of the pre-historic Dorset Culture, sea mammal hunters and seasonal nomads. Nestled on the northwest shore of Dorset Island, this modern community - with the help of the Houston family - introduced Inuit sculpture and graphics to the world fifty years ago. It thrives in the rich artistic outpouring of its citizens.
