Chirikof Island is an island off the southern coast of the Alaskan Peninsula and south of Kodiak Island. It is a designated Wilderness Area and comprises about 250,000 acres of surrounding seabed that provide homes for sea otters, sea lions, porpoises, and whales. Similar to the Semidi Islands, this area has a fertile climate ideal for marine and bird life including horned puffins, northern fulmars, jaegers, and murres.
