The small town of Coles Bay is located on the sheltered western coast of the Freycinet Peninsula, on the east coast of Tasmania, 70 miles (115km) northeast of Hobart. It is dominated by the spectacular pink granite outcrops called the Hazards. Coles Bay gives access to sandy beaches, secluded coves, rocky cliffs and the excellent Freycinet National Park. The Park is noted for its coastal heaths, orchids and other wildflowers and for its wildlife including balck cockatoos, yellow wattlebirds, honeyeaters and Bennetts wallabies. Wineglass Bay is one of the beautiful bays found in the Park. Also visit the Moulting Lagoon Game Reserve which is a breeding ground for black swans and wild ducks.
