Davao is located on the mountainous island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. Developed as a Japanese colony, it was destroyed during World War II, but rebuilt city in an attractive blend of Spanish, American, and Moorish influences. Largely rural outside the city centre, Davao City is one of the world's largest cities in land area, a sprawling 850 square miles among coconut groves and ricelands. While here you can visit Talomo Beach, the Bago Inigo fish farm, and the pearl farm on Samal Island.
