Duart Bay is on the south eastern corner of the Isle of Mull in western Scotland, close to the southern entrance to the Sound of Mull. The majestic Duart Castle overlooks the bay and is set on a dark headland with massive walls rising up. Taken in the 13th century, the Macleans of Duart expanded the castle to incorporate 300 rooms. Once again the rallying place of Clan Maclean, the castle has been restored to its former grandeur and contains family relics. To the west, close to Craignure Torosay Castle is a Scottish baronial mansion from the Victorian era featuring a good display of both furniture and paintings as well as beautiful terraced gardens.
