Europa Island - Madagascar Highlights:
Sea turtles
Europa Island is situated in the Mozambique Channel, around 150 miles off the coast of Madagascar. It is a small low lying atoll and part of the “scattered islands” of the French Southern and Antarctic lands. This uninhabited island is an important nesting ground for sea turtles and seabirds as well as being a migratory stop for birds moving between Africa and Madagascar. Its isolation has also contributed to a unique flora and fauna including a number of endemic subspecies of birds and reptiles.
