Gunther Pluschow Glacier - Chile Highlights:
Chico Sound, Piloto and Nena glaciers
Günther Plüschow Glacier lies in the channels of the west coast of Tierra del Fuego. The name comes from the German pioneer aviator Günther Plüschow, who brought from Europe a plane "Condor de Plata" (Silver Condor) that enabled him to take the first aerial photographs of the Darwin Mountain Range, beginning of the 20th century. Nearby, in Chico Sound, are the majestic Piloto and Nena glaciers.
