Half Moon Caye Reserve is a reef island off the Belize coast famed for its bird sanctuary and Manatees. The Sanctuary is the breeding ground of the endangered red-footed boobies, as well as other birds, including magnificent frigates, mangrove warblers, ospreys, and others. You can also explore the underwater atolls along the reef and the bottomless Blue Hole, a large circular formation with its incredible blue and black hues. Visit nearby Belize City, Baboon Sanctuary, take a boat on the Belize river or explore the Mayan ruins of Altun Ha or Lamaina.
