Hanseatic is a German ship custom-designed for luxurious destination rich adventure cruising. She is environmentally friendly and features an ice-hardened hull. Public rooms are luxuriously furnished and decorated and provide comfort and space.  Hanseatic passengers tend to be Mixed Ages and Mainly German. When all cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a space ratio of 45.5 tons per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 1.5 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 43.2 tons per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 1.6 passengers.

All cabins are of a good size and are well equipped with TV, telephone, fridge, separate living area and the marble bathrooms have large bathtubs. The closet and drawer space is plentiful. They all have an outside view (window or porthole).

There is a small pool and adequate deck space for sunbathing when possible. The ship carries14 inflatable Zodiacs onboard for coastal and wildlife exploration. The ship has a fitness centre, sauna, treatment room, beauty salon and a whirlpool.

Casual and comfortable during the day. Evenings range from smart casual (shirt & trousers) to informal (jacket and tie for gentlemen and casual elegance for ladies). Formal evenings require a suit or dinner jacket for men and a cocktail dress for ladies.

Wheelchair access is unsuitable. The facilities for disabled passengers are few although there are two wheelchair cabins.  Hoists are not provided and passengers will need to bring their own.
